I’ve created books with fantastic publishers including Scholastic, Chronicle, Penguin, Bloomsbury, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. My editorial illustrations have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Wired, The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, and many other national publications. My low-res iotacons have adorned books, magazines, records, quilts, restaurant bathrooms, and even the side of an east London car park, courtesy of the street artist Space Invader. Recently, I've been creating animations for Nickelodeon, Penguin, and other clients. Please look for my work in national competitions including American Illustration, Communication Arts, and The Society of Illustrators. I teach illustration at The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
School and Library Visits I love to visit schools and libraries! My presentations include dramatic readings, artistic demonstrations, discussions about creating books, and sometimes sing-alongs!
I live in the Milwaukee area, but I’m happy to travel with enough notice ahead of time. My rate is $1200/day for up to 7 sessions, plus travel and lodging. Money from a book sale is a great way to finance a visit. I don’t sell my books personally, but titles are often available from my publishers at a discount. Or, coordinate with your local book store. Consider teaming up with other schools in your area.
Skype Visits I love doing Skype visits too! It works better when the students have read my book(s) before the visit begins. Skype presentations also consist of dramatic readings, artistic demonstrations, Q&A, and sometimes sing-alongs. My rate for Skype visits is $100.
